We squeezed in a vacation within a vacation because why not, ya know? We headed north to Point Reyes, a quaint, unassuming town north of San Francisco.
On our way into the city, we stopped at the Ferry Building, my favorite! It is similar to Chelsea Market in New York–so much local goodness in one place (and killer views)! Carter and Marlow basically had something from every store, while I practically sprinted to Mariposa Bakery for a bagel. My mouth is watering just looking at that picture.
We stopped at Lands End, which is the perfect place to see the Golden Gate. It’s free, not crowded, and the breathtaking coastline almost steals the show.
I should start a blog called “Pretty Things Marlow Doesn’t Care About.”
We chased the sun to Point Reyes…
…an hour north of the city. We stayed at the Point Reyes Station Inn. This was the entrance to our room. There are only five rooms in the whole place and we had two of them, so it was very quiet. We kept saying it felt like we had our own Airbnb.
The next day we drove out to the lighthouse, which was so windy.
It felt like we were on the edge of the earth! It was breathtaking.
Point Reyes has many organic dairy farms, so we drove through miles and miles of cows. We had to stop to say hi.
And we headed back to Monterey, stopping along the way to take in the views.
